Chapeando Cuban Club

Chapeando Cuban Club was created by Giorgos and Antigoni in September 2010. In our club you can learn how to dance various cuban dances and to be also educated about Cuban music and culture. Our great love for Cuba, its music and dancing,led us to expand it by creating this Cuban Club. The aim is not only to dance to the cuban music but also to understand the music itself while you are dancing to it! In other words, to DO IT LIKE THE CUBANS!

In October 2010 we organised our first "Cuba Libre" party lesson.
The second party lesson in November 2010 was dedicated to Rueda de Casino, including films, drinks and Rueda's moves.
In December 2010 Chapeando's Launch Salsa Party was a huge success. Buffet, open bar, mojitos, instructors' shows, salsa, timba, bachata, merengue, cubaton music in a fantastic atmosphere with many people having fun!
In February 2011 the first cuban music workshop "Clave, Tres y Musica" was organised by Chapeando. The latin dancers had the opportunity to be educated and enrich their awareness of cuban and latin music by Salvador and Alejandro, two excellent Cuban musicians. The workshop's main objective was to educate the participants about the history, the rhythms, the instruments, the composers and the most popular bands of Cuban music.
In March 2011 Chapeando's second party "Una noche en La Casa" brought together on one dance floor many salseros-timberos from all cities. It was a night full of live cuban music by "Havana Vitral" and of the latest Timba hits by DJ Chico.
In May 2011 Chapeando organised its third party, this time at Larnaca in cooperation with Salsita School of Cuban Salsa. So many Salseros y Timberos where having fun and dancing until 4:00 a.m on Dj Chico's Cuban hits !
In June 2011 the first Salsa Boat Party organised by Chapeando in cooperation with Salsita School of Cuban Salsa and Dj Chico! The ship, full of Salseros y Timberos, was cruising in Larnaca's sea shaking in the Cuban rhythms!
In July 2011 Chapeando supported, attended and performed at Cubamisalsa Festival.
In August 2011 Chapeando organised the big Salsa beach party "Chapeando en La Playa" at Mare beach bar Larnaca, with huge success!
In November 2011 Salsa Chapeandera party organised by Chapeando in Nicosia at Navarino Wine Lodge!
LA EXPLOSION DE LA TIMBA was the last and bigger event for 2011! Workshops with Omar Vivar and Sonia Cano Sanches in the morning and an all night party with an amazing show by the quests artists in the night!The event took place at Nicosia Country Club.
In March 2012 attended and performed at the 7th Cyprus Salsa Congress ! 2 performances, by the instructors and by the Ladies group of Chapeando "Las Chapeanderas" !
Chapeando will continue working hard to expand Cuban Music, Dances and Culture in Cyprus!
